Qualifications & Desired Experience

  • Valid Interpreter License for Arkansas (state licensure required)
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL); bilingual skills strongly preferred for at least one interpreter
  • Prior experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in a school setting is beneficial
  • Reliability and professionalism, with the ability to commit to a full school year assignment

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 interpretation for a middle school student across classroom and educational settings
  • Maintain daily presence during school hours (37.5 hours/week, full-time)
  • Foster communication between student, peers, and staff, ensuring equal access to instruction and school activities
  • Adhere to confidentiality standards and support inclusion
