Key Qualifications:

  • Current certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (such as EIPA, RID, or relevant state credentials)
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
  • Experience providing 1:1 support in educational environments preferred
  • Ability to collaborate with educators, families, and support staff
  • Strong sense of professionalism, confidentiality, and reliability
  • Commitment to in-person, full-time work for the duration of the school year
  • Energetic, patient, and passionate about empowering students

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver 1:1 interpreting services for an elementary-aged student during classroom instruction and daily school activities
  • Facilitate effective communication between student, peers, and educational staff
  • Ensure the student’s full participation in academic and social aspects of the school day
  • Support teachers in adapting content for accessibility
  • Maintain accurate, confidential records and partner consistently with educational teams
  • Uphold ethical interpreting standards at all times
