Seeking skilled Sign Language Interpreters for full-time or part-time contract opportunities supporting students in a K-12 educational setting. This role will span the academic year, beginning August 3rd, 2026, and concluding May 21st, 2027, with the potential for additional days dedicated to start-of-year preparation or end-of-year wrap-up. Collaborate directly with administrators to determine the most suitable placement based on your age group expertise and preferences.
Key Qualifications:
- Current Georgia Educator Certification for Sign Language Interpreters with an EIPA score of 3.5 or higher.
- Alternatively, applicants who are SLI Paraprofessionals nearing the required EIPA score and planning to retake the exam are encouraged; there is potential to begin as an SLI Tech before transitioning to a full SLI role.
- Proficiency in American Sign Language and best practices for educational interpretation.
- Willingness and ability to complete required daily logs documenting services provided.
- Flexibility to work either full-time (at least 37.5 hours per week) or on a part-time basis, depending on individual and district needs.
- Commitment to supporting diverse learners and collaborating with school staff.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality sign language interpretation services to students and school staff in classroom and school settings.
- Adapt to a caseload assigned in consultation with district staff based on your strengths and interests.
- Participate in pre- and post-planning activities as needed.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all interpreting services rendered.
- Collaborate with educators and administrators to support student success.
