Certified Licensed Educational Sign Language Interpreter - Franklin, North Carolina

Make a meaningful impact in a young student’s life by providing one-on-one support as an onsite Sign Language Interpreter in an elementary school setting. This full-time contract opportunity involves working directly with a kindergartner who is completely deaf and just beginning to learn sign language, making your expertise instrumental in their daily communication and educational development. The position runs from approximately 7:30 AM to 2:30 PM each weekday, providing consistent and rewarding interaction with a caring student.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

• Certified and licensed Sign Language Interpreter
• Experience working in elementary school settings, ideally with younger children
• Ability to provide 1:1 interpreting services, adapting communication to the student’s evolving needs
• Strong skills in providing visual supports and utilizing creative strategies to foster new language acquisition
• Compassionate, patient, and skilled at building rapport with students unfamiliar with sign language
• Open to local and travel candidates; candidates from outside the immediate area are welcome to apply

Primary Responsibilities:
