Sign Language Interpreter in Frederick, MD

This contract opportunity is available ASAP through June 11, 2027, with the potential to extend into the Extended School Year (ESY). Your skills as a Sign Language Interpreter will help bridge communication and create meaningful connections, making a significant impact on students' educational experiences.

Opportunities available:

• Provide daily services for a South High senior from 11:30 am to 3:30 pm. A male interpreter is preferred to best support this outgoing student who is not only fluent in sign language but also actively participates in football and track.

• Support a female North High 10th grader with cochlear implants, ensuring accessible communication from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm each day.

Qualifications:

• Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) and experience as an educational Sign Language Interpreter.
• Ability to tailor communication support to meet individual student needs.
• Familiarity with the dynamics of working with students who have cochlear implants is a plus.
• Comfort in high school settings and enthusiasm for supporting students engaged in athletics.
• Professionalism, reliability, and a genuine passion for fostering inclusive learning environments.

Responsibilities:

• Interpret classroom instruction, peer conversations, and school activities, ensuring students have full access to the curriculum and social interactions.
• Work collaboratively with teachers and staff to facilitate effective communication.
