Key Qualifications:
- Certification or relevant credentials as a Sign Language Interpreter
- Experience in educational or K-12 settings preferred
- Comfortable with 1:1 interpreting for students
- Ability to support students with progressive hearing loss using both sign language and verbal instruction
- Flexibility to adapt to in-person or virtual demonstration (Demo for voco welcome)
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 sign language interpreting for a 9th-grade student, supporting both academic instruction and social integration
- Collaborate with teachers and school staff to deliver seamless communication access
- Adapt interpreting modalities in response to the student’s changing needs (combining voice and sign)
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism within the school environment
- Engage in required meetings, IEP discussions, and reporting duties
