Key Qualifications:

• Certification or relevant credentials as a Sign Language Interpreter
• Experience in educational or K-12 settings preferred
• Comfortable with 1:1 interpreting for students
• Ability to support students with progressive hearing loss using both sign language and verbal instruction
• Flexibility to adapt to in-person or virtual demonstration (Demo for voco welcome)

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 sign language interpreting for a 9th-grade student, supporting both academic instruction and social integration
• Collaborate with teachers and school staff to deliver seamless communication access
• Adapt interpreting modalities in response to the student’s changing needs (combining voice and sign)
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism within the school environment
• Engage in required meetings, IEP discussions, and reporting duties
