This on-site position is based at a single campus located near Fresno, CA, and offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on students who are deaf or hard of hearing. You will support clear communication and foster classroom engagement, working approximately 32.5 hours each week.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Experience interpreting in school settings is preferred
- Valid NAD Certification or EIPA Certification with a score of 4.0 or above
- Dedication to working with students across all grade levels (K-12)
- Collaborative, reliable, and adaptable in dynamic educational environments
Responsibilities:
- Provide sign language interpretation for students and staff in K-12 classrooms
- Facilitate communication during lessons, school events, and meetings
- Adapt interpreting style to match the needs of each student and classroom
- Work closely with educators, administrators, and fellow interpreters to support inclusive education
