Educational Sign Language Interpreter - Frisco City, AL

The first position serves K-12 students across three schools, offering variety and the chance to build relationships in multiple settings. The second position focuses on younger learners, K-4, within one school, where you can foster early language development and accessibility.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) required
• Experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in educational settings strongly preferred
• Ability to collaborate with educators, staff, and families to meet student needs
• Certification or licensure as required by state or local regulations
• Comfort working one-on-one and in group settings with students of diverse backgrounds
• Adaptable, patient, and dedicated to fostering accessible learning environments

Key Responsibilities:

• Interpret classroom instruction, school activities, and communications between staff and students who are deaf or hard of hearing
• Provide accurate translation from spoken English to ASL (and vice versa) in real time
• Support students’ academic and social participation within the school community
• Collaborate with teachers and support staff to ensure seamless access to curriculum
• Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries at all times
