You will work one-on-one as a dedicated interpreter, fostering clear communication and supporting accessible education.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Active Georgia Department of Education (DOE) Sign Language Interpreter license (no HR waivers permitted)
  • Demonstrated proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
  • Prior experience interpreting in educational or school-based settings preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with students, educators, and staff
  • Commitment to confidentiality and professionalism at all times

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate direct communication between student and staff, both in classroom instruction and school-related activities
  • Accurately interpret spoken and signed communication in real time
  • Collaborate with educators and support staff to adapt strategies that enhance student engagement
  • Monitor and adjust interpreting techniques as needed to suit changing classroom dynamics
  • Maintain detailed, confidential records of interpreting assignments and student progress
