Key Qualifications:

• Valid Georgia Department of Education SLI License (strict requirement; waivers are not available)
• Demonstrated proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Past experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in a school-based setting is highly valued
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate professionally with students, educators, and support staff
• Commitment to the confidentiality and the specific needs of each student
• Adaptability to work both in a dedicated 1:1 setting and as a floating interpreter

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide direct interpretation services for an assigned student within the classroom and school environment
• Support classroom instruction and communication between students, faculty, and other stakeholders
• Float between assignments as needed, ensuring coverage and support throughout the school community
• Foster an accessible, empowering atmosphere that supports student success
• Maintain detailed records in accordance with school and district guidelines
