Qualifications and Skills:

• Valid 4.0 EIPA (Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment) or higher is required
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Experience interpreting in educational settings is highly desirable
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with both students and staff
• Commitment to professional ethics and student confidentiality
• Adaptability and a responsive approach to diverse classroom needs

Core Responsibilities:

• Provide sign language interpretation for students who are deaf or hard of hearing to support academic participation
• Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and peers, ensuring equal access to classroom content and activities
• Interpret during assemblies, meetings, school functions, and other relevant activities as assigned
• Support students’ understanding and engagement with lesson materials and class discussions
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, and other professionals to best meet student needs
• Maintain clear and accurate records regarding services provided and student progress
