Qualifications:

  • Valid EIPA score of 4.0 or higher (required)
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and familiarity with interpreting in school environments
  • Experience supporting students with various communication needs
  • Ability to work in person and adapt to different age groups and classroom settings
  • Demonstrated professionalism, reliability, and excellent interpersonal skills

What Your Day Looks Like:

  • Interpret classroom instruction, discussions, and school activities between students, staff, and teachers
  • Provide clear, accurate, and impartial communication support for deaf and hard of hearing students
  • Foster an inclusive learning environment by facilitating access to academic and social information
  • Collaborate with teachers and support staff to adapt interpreting approaches as needed
  • Maintain confidentiality and follow professional standards at all times
  • Support students in both academic and extracurricular contexts
