Make a meaningful impact in a school environment by utilizing your skills as a Sign Language Interpreter for an onsite, contract opportunity working directly with a 5th grade student in a Life Skills classroom. Bring your expertise in American Sign Language to help deliver vital support and access to education, fostering a positive and inclusive learning experience.

This full-time position runs from August 19, 2026, through June 2, 2027, following a regular school schedule of 7:20 a.m. to 2:10 p.m., Monday through Friday, for a total of 35 hours each week.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated proficiency as a Sign Language Interpreter, preferably in educational settings.
  • Valid EIPA score of 3.5 or higher (required).
  • Experience in 1:1 assignments, collaborating with students with additional needs.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and time-management skills.
  • Professionalism and adaptability within dynamic classroom environments.
  • Commitment to confidentiality and student well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide dedicated, one-on-one interpreting services for a 5th grade student in a Life Skills setting.
  • Facilitate communication between the student, peers, and instructional staff.
  • Support the student’s comprehension and participation in classroom activities and broader school life.
  • Accurately convey spoken language into American Sign Language (and vice versa) in real time.
  • Collaborate with educational teams to ensure effective accommodations and inclusion.
  • Maintain thorough documentation and safeguard privacy in accordance with policies.
