Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Proficiency in American Sign Language with the ability to interpret in real-time
  • Previous experience in an educational setting is highly valued
  • Understanding of Deaf culture and communication needs
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach
  • Flexibility and professionalism in varying academic settings
  • Hold relevant state or national interpreter certification (preferred)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver interpretation services in classroom settings for 7 hours each school day
  • Support students in both group and individual environments, adapting to diverse learning needs
  • Interpret classroom instruction, assemblies, meetings, and extracurricular activities
  • Foster a comfortable, respectful, and inclusive learning space
  • Work in partnership with educators and staff to meet student goals
