Educational Sign Language Interpreter - Gray, Louisiana

Exciting opportunity available for an experienced Sign Language Interpreter to support a wonderful kindergarten student in a 1:1 setting for the 2026-2027 academic year. In this position, you will assist a bright young learner who is developing her sign language skills. The classroom teacher is fluent in sign, providing an additional layer of collaboration and support. Your expertise will be instrumental as the student builds a strong communication foundation, ensuring she can fully engage and thrive in her educational journey.

Desired Qualifications:

• Valid certification or credential as a Sign Language Interpreter.
• Previous experience working with children or in educational environments.
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) required; confidence in interpreting educational content.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships.
• Flexibility and enthusiasm for working in a collaborative, child-focused setting.
• Ability to adapt interpreting techniques to suit a young learner’s needs and pace.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 sign language interpretation for a kindergarten student throughout the school day.
