Make an impact by supporting students’ educational journeys as a Sign Language Interpreter in a vibrant school setting. This contract opportunity includes several full-time positions for professionals passionate about fostering inclusive learning environments. Candidates with EIPA scores under 4.0 are invited to apply and will be considered for ASL Para roles. Preferences for elementary or intermediate school assignments are welcomed.

Key Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and strong interpreting skills (sign to voice and voice to sign).
  • Certification from the National Registry of Interpreters of the Deaf, or a minimum score of 4.0 on the EIPA, ESSE-I/R, or NAD/ACCI assessments.
  • Candidates with EIPA scores below 4.0 are encouraged to apply for ASL Para positions.
  • Experience facilitating communication and supporting academic learning with deaf and hard-of-hearing students.
  • Ability to assist students in academics (reading, writing, math), vocational, and life skills development.
  • Comfortable monitoring students during classroom, outdoor, and community activities.
  • Commitment to working onsite only.

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate effective communication between students, peers, educators, and staff.
  • Support students with interpreting services during instructional activities and school events.
  • Collaborate with teachers to provide academic and social support tailored to individual student needs.
  • Assist in classroom routines and encourage participation, both in academic and community settings.

This is a full-time, contract-based opportunity offering approximately 30 hours per week during regular school hours for the current and upcoming academic year.
