Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
  • Previous experience interpreting within a school or educational environment preferred
  • Ability to adapt sign language to meet student-specific communication needs
  • Current relevant certification or licensure (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to fostering student success
  • Flexibility and a professional, team-oriented attitude

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide accurate and clear sign language interpretation for students during classroom instruction, assemblies, meetings, and extracurricular activities
  • Collaborate with teachers and school staff to ensure effective communication access for students
  • Support individualized education plans and accommodations
  • Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions
  • Participate in ongoing training or professional development activities
