Sign Language Interpreters are needed for the 25/26 school year to support elementary students in a school located in Gulfport, MS. This contract position offers a unique opportunity to work one-on-one with general education students in grades 2, 4, and 5, providing crucial communication support during the school day.
Responsibilities:
- Provide effective sign language interpretation for general education students on a one-on-one basis
- Facilitate communication between deaf or hard of hearing students and teachers, staff, and classmates
- Support students’ access to classroom instruction and social interactions through accurate and clear interpretation
- Collaborate with educators and support staff to ensure an inclusive learning environment
Qualifications:
- Certification required: RID, EIPA score of 3.0 or higher, or MS QA license
- Experience working with elementary-aged children preferred
- Strong knowledge of sign language and interpretation techniques
- Ability to work in-person for approximately 35 hours per week during the school year
Location:
- Gulfport, MS, within Harrison County School District

- Contract position for the full school year (CSY)
- Immediate openings available for three students in grades 2, 4, and 5
- In-person assignment requiring daily presence at the school
