Your expertise will help facilitate communication and learning, making a direct impact on a young learner’s success.
Qualifications:
- Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) required
- EIPA Score of 3.4 or higher
- Strong proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Experience working as a Sign Language Interpreter, ideally within a school setting
- Ability to collaborate effectively with students, teachers, and staff
- Comfortable adapting to the needs of middle school students
Responsibilities:
- Provide sign language interpretation services during classroom activities, lessons, and school functions
- Support communication between the student and peers, teachers, and other educational staff
- Assist the student in understanding verbal instructions and participating actively in class
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards of interpretation
- Arrive promptly for a 7:35am start and remain engaged throughout the school day
