Qualifications:

  • Valid national certification or state credentials as a Sign Language Interpreter
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
  • Experience supporting elementary-aged students preferred
  • Ability to collaborate with educators, parents, and related service providers
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and student advocacy

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide interpretation services for a 5th grade student in classroom and school settings
  • Facilitate communication between student, staff, and peers
  • Aid in ensuring student participation in all educational activities
  • Adapt interpreting style to meet the student’s individual needs
  • Maintain accurate and appropriate records when needed
