Key Qualifications:

• Valid Sign Language Interpreter credentials: EIPA score of 3.5 or higher and ISBE certification; or EIPA 3.0+ with ISBE approval
• Experience working as a Sign Language Interpreter in educational settings, preferably with high school students
• Strong proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and a commitment to supporting students’ learning and inclusion
• Excellent communication skills, collaboration, and confidentiality
• Flexibility, positivity, and a solutions-focused mindset

Your Responsibilities:

• Interpret classroom instruction and school activities to ensure full participation and access for the assigned student
• Accurately convey spoken language into sign language and vice versa in a mainstream high school classroom
• Collaborate with teachers and school staff to facilitate communication and support the educational goals of the student
• Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions
• Effectively manage interpreting duties from 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday
