The assignment runs from ASAP through May 27, 2027, and follows a traditional school calendar, Monday through Friday with a total of 35 hours per week.

Key Qualifications:

• EIPA score of 4.0 (including written), listed on the Louisiana Interpreter Registry (LCDC Interpreter Registry - Dept. of Health)
• Alternatively, possession of RID or NIC certifications (with written test completed)
• Successful completion of all required fingerprinting and drug screening for the district and agency credentialing
• Demonstrated experience working with high school students, preferably in an educational or school-based environment
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with both students and school staff

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide sign language interpreting services for high school-aged students, facilitating communication between students, educators, and staff in various settings including classrooms and extracurricular activities
• Adapt interpreting techniques to meet the individual needs of students and school environments
• Maintain accurate records in accordance with educational and district guidelines
• Adhere to confidentiality requirements and professional standards in all interactions
• Collaborate with educational teams to ensure the academic success and support of assigned students
