Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and Louisiana teacher certification in Hearing Impaired
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience working with hearing-impaired students in a mainstream setting
  • Basic proficiency in sign language and strong communication abilities
  • Experience with assistive hearing technology (hearing aids, cochlear implants, FM systems)
  • Collaborative, adaptable, and organized professional style
  • Proficiency with IEPs, progress notes, digital records, and reporting
  • Fingerprint clearance and drug screening

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver IEP-directed instruction for hearing-impaired students (ages and caseloads vary)
  • Provide consultation and in-service training to teachers and staff
  • Facilitate access to auditory resources and equipment
  • Foster inclusion and support for students within regular classrooms
  • Maintain comprehensive records and communication with families and teams
