Qualifications & Experience

  • EIPA score of 4.0 (performance) and passing written; must be actively listed on the Louisiana Interpreter Registry (LCDC Interpreter Registry - Dept. of Health)
  • RID or NIC certification also accepted (must include written)
  • Previous experience providing VOCO (virtual/remote interpreting) required
  • Experience supporting high school-aged students desirable
  • Comfortable with time-sensitive credentialing as determined by assignment
  • Commitment to a full school year assignment (through May 27, 2027)

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality sign language interpretation (onsite and/or VOCO) for high school students in an educational setting
  • Ensure clear, accurate communication between students, staff, and teachers
  • Collaborate with school teams to support student needs and foster an inclusive learning environment
  • Adapt interpreting approaches as necessary to match various instructional situations and student preferences
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional standards
