Grades 6 - 8 Grades 9 - 12 Sign Language Interpreter in Hastings, MN

Make a real difference supporting students across a range of grade levels as a contracted Sign Language Interpreter working 1:1 in a school-based setting. This position is designed for individuals eager to provide high-quality communication access for students in grades K–12. You’ll play a vital role in helping students engage fully in their daily academic and social experiences.

Qualifications:

• Valid EIPA score of 4.0 or higher, or current RID/NAD certification
• At least 2 years of professional experience as a Sign Language Interpreter preferred
• Comfortable working with students from kindergarten through high school
• Skilled in one-on-one interpreting support
• Strong interpersonal and collaboration abilities within educational environments

What You’ll Do:

• Provide one-on-one sign language interpreting services for students as assigned
• Ensure accurate and confidential communication between students, staff, and peers
• Adapt interpreting techniques to match grade level content and student needs
• Offer support during classroom instruction, school events, and extracurricular activities
• Collaborate with teachers and other specialists to promote student success
• Maintain professionalism and adhere to confidentiality standards
