Key Experience & Qualifications:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Previous experience in educational or school-based settings preferred
• Ability to interpret in a 1:1 setting with young children
• Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration with educators and families
• Eagerness to encourage child development and foster a supportive learning space
• Relevant interpreting certification or equivalent credentials strongly desired

Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 ASL interpretation between the student, peers, and staff throughout the school day
• Support the student’s understanding of classroom instruction, activities, and social interactions
• Collaborate closely with the classroom teacher and educational team
• Foster an inclusive, accessible environment that empowers student growth
• Adapt your interpreting approach to suit a young learner’s language acquisition needs
• Participate in meetings as needed to contribute to the student’s educational progress
