Ideal Qualifications:

  • Valid certification as a Sign Language Interpreter, with a 3.5 EIPA score or RID certification strongly preferred
  • Proven experience interpreting in K-12 educational environments
  • Comprehensive understanding of American Sign Language (ASL)
  • Ability to foster a supportive, accessible learning atmosphere
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Professionalism, punctuality, and adaptability in dynamic school settings

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide clear, accurate interpretation for a high school student in both classroom and extra-curricular activities
  • Support the student’s learning goals by facilitating seamless communication between students, educators, and peers
  • Collaborate closely with school staff to support individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines in all interactions
  • Contribute to an inclusive educational environment that empowers student success
