Key Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in educational sign language interpretation
  • Performance level of 3.5 or higher (or 3.0 with ISBE approval)
  • Valid ISBE certification required (or eligible with approval)
  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills
  • Proactive problem-solving and a team-oriented mindset
  • Professionalism, reliability, and a passion for supporting student learning

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct, accurate sign language interpretation for students in classroom and school activities, fostering accessible learning environments
  • Facilitate clear communication between students, teachers, and staff members across a wide range of educational settings
  • Support classroom engagement and inclusion in both academic and extracurricular contexts
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards of practice throughout each assignment
  • Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to best meet students’ needs and support their educational journey
