In this contract role, you’ll work closely with learners and educators to foster inclusive communication and enrich the classroom environment. Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and interpreting between ASL and spoken English
  • Experience providing interpreting services in educational or similar youth settings
  • Minimum of two years of college coursework (72 academic credits), Associate’s Degree or higher, or successful completion of the Highly Qualified exam
  • Understanding of middle school culture and student needs
  • Ability to maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and adaptability within a school community

Role Responsibilities:

  • Deliver interpretation services for students during classroom instruction, peer interactions, and school activities
  • Facilitate equally accessible communication between students, educators, and support staff
  • Support students’ understanding and participation in lesson materials, assignments, and discussions
  • Collaborate with educators and special services teams to identify and address individual student needs
  • Help foster an inclusive environment that respects and celebrates communication diversity
  • Maintain accurate records and comply with applicable privacy and confidentiality requirements
