Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid certification and credentials as a Sign Language Interpreter (SLI)
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Prior experience working with students in a school or educational environment preferred
• Ability to foster a supportive, communicative partnership with students and staff
• Commitment to confidentiality and professional standards

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct interpreting services for one student in a variety of classroom and school settings
• Accurately facilitate communication between the student, teachers, peers, and other school personnel
• Adapt interpreting style to suit the learning needs and environment
• Collaborate with educational staff to ensure accessibility and promote student engagement
• Assist with preparation of materials or resources, as needed, to support effective communication
• Maintain documentation and contribute to team meetings regarding student progress
