Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid certification and credentials as a Sign Language Interpreter (SLI)
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Prior experience working with students in a school or educational environment preferred
- Ability to foster a supportive, communicative partnership with students and staff
- Commitment to confidentiality and professional standards
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct interpreting services for one student in a variety of classroom and school settings
- Accurately facilitate communication between the student, teachers, peers, and other school personnel
- Adapt interpreting style to suit the learning needs and environment
- Collaborate with educational staff to ensure accessibility and promote student engagement
- Assist with preparation of materials or resources, as needed, to support effective communication
- Maintain documentation and contribute to team meetings regarding student progress
