Sign Language Interpreter in Irmo, SC

Requirements for Success:

• Valid national certification as a Sign Language Interpreter
• Minimum score of 3.5 on the EIPA, including completion of the written portion
• Previous experience working in schools or educational environments is preferred
• Strong understanding of Deaf culture, best practices for classroom interpreting, and educational team collaboration
• Professionalism, reliability, and a strong sense of commitment to student success

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide sign language interpretation services for students, staff, and faculty within the school environment
• Support classroom instruction, extra-curricular activities, and school meetings as needed
• Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and administrators to facilitate students’ participation in all aspects of school life
• Maintain confidentiality in accordance with school policies and student privacy laws
