Requirements for Success:
- Valid national certification as a Sign Language Interpreter
- Minimum score of 3.5 on the EIPA, including completion of the written portion
- Previous experience working in schools or educational environments is preferred
- Strong understanding of Deaf culture, best practices for classroom interpreting, and educational team collaboration
- Professionalism, reliability, and a strong sense of commitment to student success
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide sign language interpretation services for students, staff, and faculty within the school environment
- Support classroom instruction, extra-curricular activities, and school meetings as needed
- Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and administrators to facilitate students’ participation in all aspects of school life
- Maintain confidentiality in accordance with school policies and student privacy laws
- Contribute to team planning discussions and assist in accommodating individual student needs
