Multiple contract opportunities are available, with a primary focus on an immediate leave of absence at Plank Junior High from August 20 through December 18, 8:00 am to 3:10 pm (30-minute unpaid lunch). Additional positions include a short-term leave (August 20–October 30), a full-time interpreter position at another campus (7:45 am–2:45 pm), and a flexible float role (8:45 am–3:45 pm) supporting students with hearing needs across the district. The float role offers variety—interpreting during special services like OT and Social Work, and stepping in for absences as required.
Desired Qualifications:
- Proven proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and experience providing interpreting services in educational environments.
- Ability to adapt communication style to suit classroom settings for students ranging from elementary to junior high.
- Knowledge of educational terminology and the ability to accurately interpret for service minutes and IEP-related activities.
- Solid time management skills and comfort maintaining confidentiality.
- Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with teachers, staff, and students.
