Current opportunities include full-time assignments at a middle school and an elementary school, as well as a part-time role at a high school. You’ll play a key part in ensuring students who are deaf or hard of hearing can fully participate in their academic experience.

Required Qualifications:

• Valid Sign Language Interpreter credentials
• Minimum 3.5 EIPA score with ISBE certification or 3.0+ EIPA with ISBE approval
• Strong knowledge of sign language interpretation techniques in educational settings
• Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, staff, and students
• Professionalism, reliability, and clear communication skills

Role Details:

• Middle School, Cary, IL: Full time, 35 hours per week (7 hours per day)
• High School, Harvard, IL: Part time, 20 hours per week (4 hours per day)
• Elementary School, Aurora, IL: Full time, 35 hours per week (7 hours per day)

Responsibilities:

• Provide accurate, real-time sign language interpretation for students and staff during classroom instruction and school activities
• Support students’ understanding of lesson content and social interactions
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to school district guidelines
• Serve as a communication bridge between teachers, students, and families as needed
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to IEP discussions when required
