Sign Language Interpreter (ASL) | Jonesboro, Georgia

We're seeking two experienced professionals to provide comprehensive sign language support in both elementary and high school environments. This contract opportunity allows you to work full-time during the school week while gaining valuable experience in a supportive and collaborative atmosphere.

Ideal candidates will possess:

• Proficiency as a professional Sign Language Interpreter for school settings
• A minimum score of 3.5 on the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA)
• Eligibility for the GaPSC Educational Interpreter Certificate
• Ability to engage with students at varied learning levels, from elementary to high school
• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
• Commitment to confidentiality, professionalism, and ongoing learning

In this role, your responsibilities will include:

• Interpreting classroom instruction and educational content for deaf and hard-of-hearing students
• Facilitating communication between students, staff, teachers, and families
• Adapting signing methods and strategies to best support individual student needs
• Participating in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and other student support activities
• Collaborating closely with classroom teachers and support staff to foster an inclusive learning environment
• Upholding ethical standards and maintaining student confidentiality at all times
