Key qualifications:

  • Valid interpreter licensure and credentials, including completion of interpreter training
  • Minimum IEPA score of 3.5 or higher
  • Prior experience in educational settings as a Sign Language Interpreter is highly valued
  • Strong collaboration skills to work alongside DHH personnel and classroom team members
  • Ability to adapt communication styles to the needs of individual students and environments
  • Availability for a full-time schedule from late August through mid-June

Responsibilities:

  • Interpret classroom instruction, student interactions, and school activities for DHH students
  • Collaborate with educators and support staff to provide comprehensive communication access
  • Adjust interpreting style for different grade levels and educational settings as assigned
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
  • Remain flexible as caseloads and specific site assignments will be finalized before placement
