Sign Language Interpreter (ASL) | Junction City, Oregon

Step into an impactful role supporting students as a Sign Language Interpreter with a dedicated school-based team nearby Junction City, OR. This contract position spans from August 2026 to mid-June 2027, offering a dynamic environment where you can make a meaningful difference in Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) students’ educational experiences. You’ll collaborate closely with fellow interpreters and classroom support staff, working primarily 1:1 with students across a consistent set of school buildings in the Eugene area.

Key Qualifications:

• Completion of interpreter training and licensure required for educational interpreting in Oregon
• Achieved a score above 3.5 on the IEPA assessment (please ensure all documentation is current and included)
• Experience or comfort working as the primary interpreter for a student, as well as part of a DHH team
• Strong communication, flexibility, and a positive, collaborative attitude

Core Responsibilities:

• Deliver clear, accurate sign language interpretation for 1:1 student support during classroom instruction and school activities
• Partner with DHH teachers, classroom aides, and other support staff to facilitate student access and participation
• Maintain professional standards for confidentiality, cultural competence, and ethical interpreting
• Provide regular feedback and recommendations regarding students’ communication needs and progress
