Qualifications & Experience:
- Current licensure as a Sign Language Interpreter (required)
- Demonstrated experience in translating spoken English to American Sign Language (ASL) and back
- Ability to facilitate effective communication with Deaf or Hard of Hearing (D/HH) individuals
- Commitment to upholding ethical standards and confidentiality
- Availability for a full school year (8/3/26–5/21/27), 37.5 hours per week
- Experience in an educational setting preferred
Responsibilities:
- Translate spoken English into ASL and vice versa for D/HH students and staff
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
- Serve as primary interpreter for two students at an elementary school setting
- Support communication in a variety of educational and possibly community scenarios
- Collaborate with educators and staff to ensure accessibility
