Educational Interpreter - Kent, WA

A full-time Sign Language Interpreter is needed to support a 20-year-old student receiving Transition Services during the 2025/2026 school year in Kent, WA. This contract position offers a consistent 37 hours per week schedule, with assignments starting as soon as possible and continuing through the end of the school year. There may also be opportunities for summer work depending on the student's needs.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• EIPA score of 4.0 or higher, demonstrating strong proficiency in sign language interpretation
• Experience working within educational settings, especially with transition-aged students
• Ability to communicate effectively and facilitate clear understanding between student and school staff
• Familiarity with Transition Services and supporting young adults in their educational and vocational goals

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality sign language interpretation for a 20-year-old student, ensuring full access to classroom instruction and school activities
• Collaborate with school personnel and the student’s support team to foster effective communication
• Assist with transition planning and related communication to support the student’s educational and vocational progress
• Maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and adherence to ethical standards in all interactions
