Desired Experience and Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Sign Language Interpreter, especially within educational settings
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Ability to facilitate effective communication between students and staff
• Possession of national or state certification preferred (such as EIPA, RID, or equivalent)
• Comfortable providing interpretation services in a classroom environment
• Professional, patient, and adaptable in fast-paced school settings

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver interpretation services for a high school student requiring support throughout the school day
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, and other support personnel
• Foster an accessible, inclusive learning environment
• Interpret class discussions, lectures, and peer interactions to promote student understanding and engagement
• Support participation in extracurricular and school-related activities when needed
• Maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times
