Qualifications & Experience:

  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
  • Valid and current certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (such as EIPA, RID, or state credential)
  • Previous experience interpreting in educational settings preferred
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to supporting student success in diverse environments

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide interpretation services for students and staff in classroom and school activities
  • Facilitate clear and accurate communication between deaf/hard-of-hearing students and hearing individuals
  • Adapt interpreting techniques to a variety of learning environments and student needs
  • Work in partnership with special education teams, educators, and families
  • Maintain confidentiality and support inclusive educational practices
