Five positions are available for talented professionals ready to make a difference in general education classrooms. Enjoy a consistent weekday schedule from 7:40 am to 2:00 pm, working closely with students one-on-one and occasionally assisting throughout the campus as needed. As part of this dynamic environment, you will help bridge communication to foster inclusion and academic success for students who use sign language.
Desired Experience & Qualifications:
- Expertise in American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation, particularly in school settings
- Current valid EIPA score of 4.0 or higher required
- Experience collaborating within general education environments
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Flexibility and adaptability when supporting different students or classroom needs
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative interpreting team
- Professionalism and confidentiality in all student interactions
Position Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one sign language interpretation for students in general education classrooms
- Assist with interpreting during various campus activities as needed
- Adapt interpreting techniques to suit different classroom subjects and age groups
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to support positive educational experiences
- Maintain accurate records related to student assignments and interpreting encounters
- Promote an accessible and welcoming classroom environment for all students
