ASL Interpreter | Lathrop, California

Take your skills in sign language interpretation into an educational setting where you can make a difference for students every day. We're seeking five Sign Language Interpreters for a contract opportunity for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year. This role offers a steady schedule of 30 hours per week, supporting individual students in general education classrooms, as well as providing flexible assistance throughout the campus when needed. The assignment runs from 7:40 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. each school day.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid 4.0 EIPA credential required for interpreters
• Open to ASL paraprofessionals actively pursuing certification
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL), with a strong ability to facilitate clear communication in a busy school environment
• Previous experience working with students in educational, community, or related environments is highly valued
• Strong interpersonal skills, flexibility, and a supportive presence on campus

Key Responsibilities:

• Support students in general education settings as a dedicated 1:1 interpreter
• Assist classroom communication, facilitate understanding, and ensure equal access to lessons and activities
• Collaborate with faculty and staff as needed to foster a positive educational experience
• Step in to support additional students and needs across campus when required
