Qualifications and Experience:

• Demonstrated expertise in American Sign Language interpreting, particularly in school settings
• Completion of at least two years of college (minimum 72 credits of academic coursework), an Associate’s Degree or higher, or successful passage of the Highly Qualified exam
• Previous experience working with middle school students or in educational environments is highly valued
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
• Professionalism, adaptability, and collaborative spirit to partner closely with educators and the school community

Key Responsibilities:

• Interpret spoken language into American Sign Language, and vice versa, for students, staff, and during classroom instruction
• Support students' full participation in classroom activities, assemblies, and school events
• Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards as outlined by professional interpreting guidelines
• Collaborate with teachers and other staff to ensure student learning experiences are accessible and inclusive
• Assist with planning or adapting instructional materials as requested
