This role calls for a dedicated professional fluent in ASL, passionate about creating inclusive learning experiences and fostering student success. You’ll collaborate closely with classroom teachers, staff, and other interpreters to provide real-time interpreting support and ensure students’ needs are met from 8:00am to 3:00pm, Monday through Friday.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) is required
• Experience as a Sign Language Interpreter or Paraprofessional in a school setting is highly valued
• Comfortable supporting middle school students in various classroom activities
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities
• Ability to adapt to diverse learning needs and styles

Responsibilities:

• Deliver clear and accurate ASL interpretation for students throughout the school day
• Assist in classroom instruction, activities, and small group work as needed
• Support positive interactions between deaf/hard-of-hearing students, peers, and staff
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
• Collaborate with teachers to adapt materials and provide accessible learning resources
• Monitor student progress and communicate relevant observations to the educational team
