Educational Interpreter - Lincoln, Nebraska

Bring your sign language expertise to an engaging PreK classroom environment, supporting young learners in their educational journey. This contract opportunity begins as soon as possible and offers the chance to remain in the role through late May 2026. As a vital part of the educational team, you'll work part-time onsite (3.75 hours daily), connecting students with meaningful communication and learning experiences.

Qualifications:

• Valid certification or licensure as a Sign Language Interpreter (provisional licenses accepted if EIPA score is under 4.0)
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Previous experience in educational settings, particularly with preschool-aged children, is a plus
• Strong interpersonal communication and collaborative skills
• Ability to work independently under the guidance of educators and support staff
• Committed to onsite work for the contract's duration

Responsibilities:

• Provide sign language interpretation in a PreK classroom, ensuring students have full access to curriculum and social interaction
• Foster an inclusive environment, helping students develop language and communication skills
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and specialists to support individual student needs
• Interpret instructions, lessons, and classroom activities for deaf or hard-of-hearing students
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards at all times
