Key Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL), with experience interpreting in educational settings
  • Eligibility for or possession of an SLI license; provisional license accepted for EIPA scores below 4.0

  • Professionalism in upholding student confidentiality and fostering inclusivity

What You'll Do:

  • Provide real-time sign language interpretation for elementary students, ensuring clear communication between students, staff, and peers
  • Adapt interpreting techniques to fit various learning activities throughout the school day
  • Support both classroom instruction and non-academic settings (such as assemblies, lunch, or group activities)
  • Work closely with teachers, special education teams, and school staff to address individual student needs
  • Maintain appropriate documentation and participate in meetings regarding student progress or program planning
