Make a meaningful difference in the lives of students as a Sign Language Interpreter in a dynamic educational environment near Littleton, CO. This contract opportunity offers variety and purpose, supporting students with both special education and general education needs—ranging from mild to severe—across multiple school sites. You’ll play a pivotal role in facilitating communication and fostering inclusion as an itinerant interpreter.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Valid CDE (Colorado Department of Education) Authorization required for educational sign language interpreters
  • Minimum EIPA score of 3.5 to comply with state and district standards
  • Previous experience interpreting in school or educational settings preferred
  • Ability to support a full range of interpreting needs for both special education (SPED) and general education (Gen Ed) students
  • Comfort working onsite and traveling between multiple campuses as needed
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative mindset

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret spoken language into American Sign Language (ASL) and vice versa for students, educators, and staff
  • Serve as an itinerant interpreter, working onsite across several school locations throughout the district
  • Facilitate classroom communication to help ensure equal access to educational content and social interactions for Deaf and hard-of-hearing students
  • Collaborate with teachers, special educators, and other school professionals to adapt and implement communication supports for diverse learning environments
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
