Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students in an inclusive, engaging school setting for the 2026-2027 academic year! As a highly skilled Sign Language Interpreter, your expertise will help foster communication and inclusion among general education students. There are multiple positions available (five SLIs needed), allowing you to work alongside a dedicated professional community.

Role Highlights:

  • Collaborate 1:1 with individual students, and provide interpreting support throughout the campus as needed.
  • Maintain a consistent schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:40 AM to 2:00 PM, with a total of 32.5 hours per week.
  • Facilitate clear communication and equal participation for students using American Sign Language in general education classrooms.
  • Adapt quickly to fill in different areas on campus, assisting wherever interpreting services are necessary.
  • Champion inclusive practices and help build bridges between students, staff, and the school community.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) score of at least 4.0 is a must.
  • Previous experience in a K-12 educational setting is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL).
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Flexibility and a positive attitude to adapt to varying classroom environments or needs.
  • Commitment to supporting general education students – all with no identified disabilities.
