Key Qualifications:

  • Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL)
  • Valid national and state certifications for sign language interpretation (such as EIPA, RID, or similar)
  • Previous experience in educational or school-based settings (preferred)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Adaptability and professionalism in diverse environments

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Interpret classroom instruction, discussions, and events between students, staff, and educators
  • Foster inclusive learning by providing clear, accurate translations for deaf/hard-of-hearing students
  • Collaborate with teachers, special education teams, and support personnel
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines
  • Participate in IEP meetings and professional development as needed
