Key Requirements:
- Valid Sign Language Interpreter license in the State of North Carolina
- Experience providing sign language interpretation services in a school-based setting preferred
- Demonstrated fluency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Ability to work exclusively onsite throughout the academic year
- Professionalism, reliability, and excellent communication skills
- Comfortable handling a 1:1 caseload for effective, focused support
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide real-time interpretation for students and staff during classroom instruction, school events, meetings, and extracurricular activities
- Facilitate clear understanding between deaf/hard-of-hearing students and teachers, peers, and school staff
- Follow ethical standards and maintain confidentiality in all assignments
- Collaborate with educators, special education teams, and families to enhance student engagement and achievement
