Key Requirements:

• Valid Sign Language Interpreter license in the State of North Carolina
• Experience providing sign language interpretation services in a school-based setting preferred
• Demonstrated fluency in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Ability to work exclusively onsite throughout the academic year
• Professionalism, reliability, and excellent communication skills
• Comfortable handling a 1:1 caseload for effective, focused support

Role Responsibilities:

• Provide real-time interpretation for students and staff during classroom instruction, school events, meetings, and extracurricular activities
• Facilitate clear understanding between deaf/hard-of-hearing students and teachers, peers, and school staff
• Follow ethical standards and maintain confidentiality in all assignments
• Collaborate with educators, special education teams, and families to enhance student engagement and achievement
