Educational Sign Language Interpreter - Lusby, Maryland

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Maryland Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) license
• Strong expressive and receptive American Sign Language (ASL) skills
• Experience in educational settings or with school-age children preferred
• Ability to collaborate effectively with students, teachers, and staff
• Compassionate, patient, and dedicated to student success

Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 interpreting services for a designated student, ensuring consistent and clear communication during classes and school activities
• Facilitate participation and engagement in both academic and extracurricular settings
• Collaborate with educators and support staff to implement best practices in communication access and inclusion
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
• Adapt interpreting techniques and approaches as needed to meet student needs
