Key Qualifications:

• ASL fluency with strong interpreting and communication skills
• Experience working as a Sign Language Interpreter or teaching American Sign Language, particularly in school-based settings
• Familiarity with Deaf/Hard of Hearing education and IEP processes
• Ability to collaborate effectively with staff, students, and families
• National certification (such as EIPA, RID, or NIC) or state licensure preferred
• Professionalism, flexibility, and a willingness to adapt to school environments

Primary Responsibilities:

• Interpret classroom instruction, school meetings, and events for students and staff
• Support exceptional learners by making instructional content accessible
• Work one-on-one or with small groups to bolster comprehension and engagement
• Liaise with educators to adapt lessons and materials for visual accessibility
• Foster a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere that celebrates student diversity
• Adhere to ethical guidelines, policies, and maintain confidentiality at all times
